چکیده
The vacuum radiation of a massive scalar field is studied by means single moving mirror. equation with an arbitrary-shaped mirror in (d+1) dimensions given perturbatively the non-relativistic limit. Explicit results are obtained for flat (1+1) and (3+1) dimensions. power friction force on intrinsic mass found to suppress radiation. In dimensions, modification frequency spectra angular emitted particles due obtained. limit m→0, we recover massless field.

Stationary and Nonstationary Scalar Vacuum Field Noises
If stationary, the spectrum of vacuum field noise (VFN) is an important ingredient to get information about the curvature invariants of classical worldlines (relativistic classical trajectories). For scalar quantum field vacua there are six stationary cases as shown by Letaw some time ago, these are reviewed here. However, the nonstationary vacuum noises are not out of reach and can be processe...
متن کاملVacuum energy of a massive scalar field in the presence of a semi-transparent cylinder
We compute the ground state energy of a massive scalar field in the background of a cylindrical shell whose potential is given by a delta function. The zero point energy is expressed in terms of the Jost function of the related scattering problem, the renormalization is performed with the help of the heat kernel expansion. The energy is found to be negative for attractive and for repulsive back...

متن کاملMassive scalar field near a cosmic string
The ζ function of a massive scalar field near a cosmic string is computed and then employed to find the vacuum fluctuation of the field. The vacuum expectation value of the energy-momentum tensor is also computed using a point-splitting approach. The obtained results could be useful also for the case of self-interacting scalar fields and for the finite-temperature Rindler space theory. PACS num...
متن کاملPhases of massive scalar field collapse
We study critical behavior in the collapse of massive spherically symmetric scalar fields. We observe two distinct types of phase transition at the threshold of black hole formation. Type II phase transitions occur when the radial extent (λ) of the initial pulse is less than the Compton wavelength (μ) of the scalar field. The critical solution is that found by Choptuik in the collapse of massle...
